Description: Your friends think you have a few screws loose. You don’t know what they are talking about. How could you now LOVE a good challenge with epic scenery! This is the best gravel loop Humboldt has to offer. The evelation on the Strava route link is way off! When I made my ride into a route it decided to add 4K ft.
It took mee 2.5 hours to get to the school. I was riding in zone 2, taking pictures, smelling flowers…Then about 6 hours at touring pace to get around the loop. It was a nice 9-10 hour leisure day on the bike.
The route will be well marked and supported! If you want to get an early start, think about bringing a small LIGHT.

Lone Star 7am Start
Description: This ride will leave the watershed and take advantage of our mixed rural county roads. You will see redwoods, oak praries and mixed forests. This is a challenging route with a variety of surfaces, gradients.. Look out for the gravel climb descent down Mountain View! The elevation for the Strava route is OFF!

Diamond Grinder 10am Start
Description: The original route for this event. If you are looking for a 100% off road experience in the redwoods, this is it! The end of the route is punctuated with two river crossings. The upper one is thigh deep the second is ankle deep. The elevation on the Strava route is incorrect.
